And, i want to say that South France is a wonderful part of the world So, if you (or someone you know, anyone in fact) is interested in visiting the mediteranean coast, the Pyreneans mountains, the Pont du Gard, Nîmes, etc etc i can provide a free room in my house, for 0€ (and compared to Norway, life is way more cheaper here ). There is an airport in Montpellier with direct flights (but only from/to Oslo) and low costs (i found flights for 55€ .... that would be 450 kroner if my internet converter is right)....
In return, all that i would ask is the same when i would go to norway

And here, even if we did not have churches bunrning, there have been a lot of graveyards destroyed and painted with inverted crosses...

Concerning prices in Norway, what i do not understand ... your country is supposed to be rich with only the oil money, isn't it ?? Wow, long answer I'm happy I was right in my last sentence where I said that "If you turn out not to be a stupid churchburner, just a normal BM-person with some self-irony and humor, I am sorry about my complaining"
And yes, unfortunately what people in the rest of the world think when I say I'm from Norway, is that we're a bunch of whale-killing churchburners.
I live in Sarpsborg, and a very pretty old church here was burned to the ground.
But there really isn't all that many metal-people here at all. Actually in this town I can count them all on my hands (and toes).

And the reason for my rather annoyed comment, was that I had been called a satanist and churchburner by my teacher that very day. I was holding and looking at a stressrelieving crystal during a test, and she thought I had written notes in my hand. Blah.

Oh, and yes! Norway is soooo expensive. I don't get it. Not so long ago I had ordered a drawing tablet from Germany, and two months after I got a letter saying that I had to pay 25% in taxes (moms) of the total price of the item and shipping and everything. And then I had to pay a 80 kroner fee to be allowed to pay the tax and then 25% of that too. Which means I had to pay 600 kroner(90-100$) for absolutely nothing. And I'm a student without a job, I try to make some money off my art. If I wasn't living with my parents I'd die of hunger.
But it's becuase norwegians are lazy. No one want's to work. So then we have to pay so much for everything. So that the state has money to give to those lazy bastards who won't work. And of course, I have to mention the fact that all state offices look a hell lot better than any school. And they get free food from a nice cafeteria, while we have to pay 30 kroners for a sandwich and 30 for a juice.


Not much NSBM in Norway, I think. Not that I know of. Most of my friends dislike it.
I know one idiot who loves it and loves Varg, yet he managed to say that Darkthrone wasn't real metal. He's 30 years old and it looked like he was going to hit me or something. But i'll answer in English as this subject is concerning all BM lovers... I don't learn norwegian for long (1 year) but i understood enough of your comment to know that my little norsk sentence made you jump on your keyboard.

My sentence was (more or less), for the non-norwegian speakers : "Burn the damn churches".


What i want to say is my very own opinion : i won't burn any church. All of the BM lovers i know won't burn any church.

So you say i seemed to be the stereotype of the BM but i was not serious with my comment ... this time, i WANTED to be a stereotype. I wanted to see how people would react ... see if people will understand and react. No real goal, just a matter of being curious

But i have to underline a fact .....

I know that you norwegian people do not like this events (burning of churches) to be associated with BM and/or Norway, and you're generally very reactive about that.

The point is that the vision of BM must be very different in norway compared to other countries : here in France, people may (during a gig as an example) shout things like "Burn the pope!!" or "Burn churches to the ground!" ..... but it is the same as people shouting "no future" in a punk gig even if they have children and a wife in the real life. There's a message in these kind of music but there is also a matter of not taking things literally, that is the mistake many kids do.

BM is a style dealing with subjects that, at first sight, seem negative, destructive and childish...but it is an elitist music style and for those who really understand the meaning of all this it, in fact, brings feeling of purity, yearning, cold wrath sometimes, etc ... (Hard to explain all that i think about this music in a few lines)

And also, i understand (for the fact that many norwegian people i met are embarassed with what the Count Varg made...) that it is embarassing. The loss of these old churches is a pity. Even if i'm not christian, i think that these churches were part of your history and, for this reason, were not to be taken as an aim ... and the image these guys gave to Norway (i'm talking of Varg, Euronymous, ...) is far from reality. This is so true because outside of Scandinavia, BM is the ONLY thing people know about Norway ... Roald Amundsen ? St Olav ? Kittelsen ? Grieg ? ... NO other norwegian cultural export is as well known as BM !! Even a tv show of the NRK (i think it was called "Lydverket") talked about that fact....

As a conclusion, know that i'm not one of the many followers that want to go to Norway because they think every corner of each street is filled with black metallers I fell in love with your beautiful country and langage many many years ago, before discovering BM. (But i found the strength to learn norwegian only 1 year ago ... this is hard because there is not much resources, not many people to talk to and, on top of that, you have MANY sub-langages !!!)
